1966 Australian Decimal Pattern 20 Cent Silver Proof Coin

A very limited number of these ANDA Coin Show Specials are currently available online.
Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
Issued at ANDA Gold Coast in 2009, the coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 0.4456oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
Historic ‘Black Swan’ Reverse
The coin’s reverse portrays the grace and majesty of an Australian black swan in flight by Andor Mészáros (1900 – 1972). The design was suggested by the artist in 1966 for the reverse of Australia’s new 20 cent decimal coin. Although it was not selected, the magnificent image is fondly remembered by many for its appearance on the obverse of Australia’s legendary, but unofficial, 1967 ‘Goose’ Dollar.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2009 year-date.
ANDA Gold Coast Presentation Card
The coin is housed on a presentation card featuring a ghosted image of the Black Swan accompanied by the ANDA logo and the words PERTH MINT COIN SHOW SPECIAL ANDA Gold Coast 2009.
Extremely Limited Mintage
Just 2,500 of these coins will be released on ANDA Coin Show Special presentation cards.
