Proof Quality 92.5% Pure Silver

Giving collectors the opportunity to own a piece of numismatic history, the Royal Mint has produced this stunning collection featuring seven new coins struck from 92.5% pure silver in proof quality.

Heraldic Inspiration

The new designs are inspired by the shield of the Royal Arms, a powerful symbol of royal authority throughout British history.  The shield displays the Royal emblems of the United Kingdom: the three lions of England in the first and fourth quarters, the lion of Scotland in the second and the harp of Ireland in the third.

Stunning Reverse Designs

The new ₤1 reverse design portrays the shield of the Royal Arms in its entirety.  The new 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p reverse designs portray discrete sections of the heraldic shield.  Arranged as they are in this stunning collection, the new coins reveal another depiction of the historic shield.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The obverse of each United Kingdom coin portrays the portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley and the 2008 year-date.

Black Presentation Case

The Silver Proof Collection is housed in a black presentation case.

Informative Booklet

The collection is accompanied by an informative booklet that includes a profile of designer Matthew Dent, who won a public competition to change the face of Britain’s coins.

Numbered Certificate of Authenticity

The collection is also accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Chief Executive of the Royal Mint.
