Stunning Reverse Designs
The reverse of the koala coin depicts an adult koala asleep in a eucalyptus tree.
The reverse of the dragon coin depicts a representation of a dragon with a symbolic pearl. The Chinese character for ‘dragon’ and the inscription ‘YEAR OF THE DRAGON’ also appear in the design.
Both designs include The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Each coin’s obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
Limited Mintage
Just 2,888 of these special two-coin sets will be released.
Presentation Packaging
The coins are housed in a display card which can be pulled out of a printed sleeve featuring the dates of the Beijing International Coin Exposition and official logo.
