The Chinese character for ‘rabbit’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rabbit’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2011 year-date are shown on the coin’s obverse.
AUSTRALIAN LEGAL TENDER
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
AUSTRALIA POST’S SEAL OF AUTHENTICITY AND OFFICIAL NUMBER
The stamp and coin cover features Australia Post’s seal of authenticity and official number.
OFFICIAL AUSTRALIA POST STAMPS
Affixed to the envelope are $1.80 and 60c stamps from Australia Post’s Christmas Island Lunar New Year Series. Both stamps, which bear designs based on the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, are postmarked 11 January 2011, the day this stamp and coin cover is released.
