Product Information

This commemorative coin in card pays homage to the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who exhibited such courage, mateship and sacrifice on Gallipoli in 1915.

Anzac Day remains one of the most significant dates in Australia’s military history. Each year on 25 April Australians pause to remember the many service men and women who have fought and continue to fight for the freedom of our nation. Services are held at dawn, the time of the original Gallipoli landing, followed by marches and gatherings throughout major cities and towns. Anzac Day ceremonies and commemorations continue to grow every year around Australia, demonstrating that the Anzac spirit continues to live on as we remember those that went before us to enable a free and peaceful Australia.

The Royal Australian Armoured Corps is a combat arm within the Australian Army. The role of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps is to locate, identify, destroy or capture the enemy, by day or night, in combination with other arms, using fire and manoeuvre.*

Anzac Themed Reverse Design

The design on this uncirculated $1 coin portrays a Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle in the background with a soldier in the cabin of the vehicle. A bugler in silhouette, the inscription ‘Lest We Forget’ and the date, April 25, are also incorporated into the design.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under Australia’s Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2016 year-date.

Attractive Presentation Card

The coin is presented in a specially designed display card, which features a fold-out stand for upright display, and portrays an image of members of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps.
