In April 1915, just eight months after Britain declared war on Germany on 4 August 1914, soldiers from Australia and New Zealand – organised into the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) – landed on the Gallipoli peninsula, with the aim of assisting in the allied effort to command the Dardanelles and to knock Ottoman Turkey out of the war.
The 2015 ANZAC Coin and Stamp Set comprises of two 1/2oz proof coins, an official Australia Post stamp, and an official New Zealand Post stamp.

The reverse of the Australian coin and official Australia Post stamp depicts the silhouettes of an Australian and a New Zealand soldier against the rugged hills of the Gallipoli peninsula at Anzac Cove in colour. It also features sprigs of Golden Wattle, monetary denomination and the words ‘ANZAC’ and ‘Australia’.
The reverse of the New Zealand coin and official New Zealand Post stamp depicts the silhouettes of an Australian and a New Zealand soldier against the beach at Anzac Cove in colour. It also features fronds of Silver Fern, monetary denomination and the words ‘ANZAC’ and ‘New Zealand’.
Australian Legal Tender and New Zealand Legal Tender Coins
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the currency act of each country, and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the 2015 year-date, on its obverse.
Extremely Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the 2015 ANZAC 1/2oz Silver Coin and Stamp Set.
