Perth Mint $1 Commemorative Coin
The Stamp and Coin Cover incorporates an Australian $1 aluminium bronze commemorative coin. Struck by The Perth Mint in brilliant uncirculated quality, the coin’s reverse portrays four players in a high marking contest. Also included in the design is the AFL’s official Australian Football 150 Years logo and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
Souvenir Envelope
The coin is housed in a souvenir envelope portraying the historical image ‘Football in the Colonies’, which was published in 1874 in The Illustrated Sydney News & New South Wales Agriculturist and Grazier.
Commemorative 50c Stamp
The envelope includes a commemorative 50c Australia Post stamp cancelled with a Loch Sport Vic 3851 special postmark dated 29 July 2008.
