First Rose Gold Lunar Coin This 1/10oz coin, which celebrates the Year of the Rooster, is the first Australian Lunar coin to be struck by The Perth Mint from 18-carat rose gold.
Year of the Rooster Design The specimen quality coin's reverse design features a rooster with a rising sun in the background. The rooster is surrounded by a border of bronze coloured bats and orange coloured clouds symbolising health, peace and prosperity. The Chinese character for 'rooster' and the 2005 year-date also appear in the design.
Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
Distinctive Presentation This coin is housed in a green leatherette case, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited Mintage Only 15,000 of these individual 1/10oz coins will be issued worldwide.
Rooster Attributes The Chinese believe people born in the Year of the Rooster - that's 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993 or 2005 - are honest, hardworking and talented.
