The coin’s reverse portrays a male and female Regent Bowerbird in colour, headed by the inscription REGENT BOWERBIRD. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design also includes representations of native Australian vegetation.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 10,000 of these Regent Bowerbird 2013 1/2oz Silver Proof Coins.

This coin is housed in a classic presentation case with a beautifully illustrated shipper, and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Bird enthusiasts will know the male to be a velvety black colour with a gleaming yellow crown, mantle and tipped wing feathers, while the female is olive brown with white markings. An Australian endemic, the Regent Bowerbird is distributed to rainforests and margins of eastern Australia, from central Queensland to New South Wales.
