Coloured Reverse Motif

The coin’s reverse depicts a festive motif comprising a coloured image of a decorated Christmas tree with the inscription WISHING YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.  The motif, which also includes representations of twinkling stars, is surrounded by a pattern of holly and a ribbon tied in a bow.

‘P’ Mintmark

The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears on the reverse.

Issued As Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the coin portrays the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2008 year-date on the obverse.

Extremely Limited Mintage

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of these Christmas 2008 coins.
