Over the years, The Perth Mint has introduced innovative coins that incorporate colour, diamonds and precious metal inserts. Now we are proud to present a breathtaking new patent-protected concept in numismatics, with the amazing Crown Jewels silver ‘locket coin’. Glittering Jewels in ‘Locket’ Centre The world’s first coins containing free-moving parts, the Crown Jewels ‘locket coin’ features a glittering array of rubies, sapphires and cubic zirconia, which move freely in the centre of this pure silver coin. The jewels were chosen to reflect the colours of the precious stones used in the famous Crown Jewels. Symbolic Design The coin’s reverse design depicts examples of typical coronation regalia. Presentation A colourful presentation card houses the silver, proof-like coin. Quality Jewels and Pure Silver Each coin carries 1½ carats of polished stones. The coins are minted from 99.9% pure silver and are issued under the authority of the Government of the Cook Islands. The obverse depicts the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination $1.00. Limited Mintage Only 50,000 silver coins will be minted.
