Discover Australia is a magnificent collector coin program from the historic Perth Mint. Scheduled for release between 2006 and 2008, the program comprises pure gold, silver and platinum proof coins depicting Australia's amazing fauna, landmarks and flora.

Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
This 2007-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
Landmarks Theme – Adelaide
The coin’s reverse symbolises Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. Founded in 1836, Adelaide attracted free settlers with a promise of religious tolerance, an attribute reflected in its alias - 'the City of Churches'. Early German migrants arrived with vine clippings, the roots of premium wine production in the nearby Barossa Valley.
Coloured Reverse Design
The reverse design portrays a vine in colour and St Peter's Cathedral, one of the most historic buildings in Adelaide. The year-date and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
Uniquely Australian Packaging
The coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian sheoak timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
The coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of these coins worldwide.
