Discover Australia is a magnificent collector coin program from the historic Perth Mint. Scheduled for release between 2006 and 2008, the program comprises pure gold, silver and platinum proof coins depicting Australia's amazing fauna, landmarks and flora.

Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
This 2008-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
Landmarks Theme – Kakadu
The coin’s reverse symbolises Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. Home to many endangered species of flora and fauna, and a major concentration of ancient cave paintings and rock art, Kakadu is inscribed on the World Heritage List for both its natural and cultural values.
Coloured Reverse Design
The reverse portrays waterlilies in colour, a commonly occurring plant in the floodplains of Kakadu, and a crocodile. The design also incorporates the year-date and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
Uniquely Australian Packaging
The coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian sheoak timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
The coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of these coins worldwide.
