Discover Australia is a magnificent collector coin program from the historic Perth Mint. Scheduled for release between 2006 and 2008, the program comprises pure gold, silver and platinum proof coins depicting Australia's amazing fauna, flora and landmarks.

Fauna Theme - Saltwater Crocodile
The reverse of each coin an depicts a Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). The world's largest reptile, a 'saltie' is capable of growing to between six and seven metres and weighing up to 1,000 kilograms. Distributed across tropical northern Australia, this fearsome creature inhabits fresh and saltwater, and will stalk any human foolish enough to swim in its vicinity. The year-date and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coins depict Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

Each coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian jarrah timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 1/10oz and 25,000 1/25oz coins worldwide.
