King Kong - Aluminium Bronze Coin

King Kong is a giant of movie history. When the tale of a gigantic gorilla appeared on screens in 1933, it was hailed as one of the first great special effects science fiction adventure epics. In 2005, the wizardry of computer animation has brought King Kong to life once more. This coin celebrates triple Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson's blockbuster movie, in which ambitious film-maker Carl Denham, actress Ann Darrow and playwright Jack Driscoll embark on a wild adventure on Skull Island - the home of the ferocious 25-foot gorilla. Aluminium Bronze Coin This 2005-dated coin is struck from aluminium bronze (38.74mm). Ferocious Reverse Image The reverse design portrays a ferocious image of King Kong, the 25-foot gorilla who lives on Skull Island. New Zealand Legal Tender Issued as legal tender of New Zealand, the coin's obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Presentation Packaging The coin is housed on a presentation card, which comes inside an illustrated sleeve featuring imagery from the movie. Limited Mintage No more than 100,000 of these coins will be released. Universal Studios' King Kong movie © Universal Studios. Kong The 8th Wonder of the World™, Universal Studios.
