Fantasia (1940) is undoubtedly one of the most highly regarded Disney animated feature films of all time. In the film, Mickey Mouse plays the eponymous role The Sorcerer’s Apprentice of this highly regarded symphonic concert.
The film premiered on 13 November 1940 at the Broadway Theatre in New York and featured animation set to classical music, with no dialogue. The beautiful animation is brought to life by the classical music of Leopold Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Issued by New Zealand Mint as legal tender under the Pacific island of Niue, the obverse of the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2016 year-date.
